About Hawks Nest

Homestead Elementary School students in kindergarten through fifth grade are able to be enrolled in our on-site childcare program. Our goal at Hawks Nest is provide children with fun and enriching activities while also providing a safe and welcoming atmosphere.

By adding a balance of social interaction, academic learning activities, clubs, arts/crafts, and physical education we help every child feel engaged and welcome in our childcare setting.
Our staff provides the attention, interaction, and nourishment the children need to be successful at Hawk's Nest.

Each day the students are picked up from their classrooms by a Hawks Nest leader and are walked down to the cafeteria to take attendance. If there are students that are not accounted for after attendance the parents will be notified immediately. Our recess is around an hour each afternoon (weather permitting) and the kids have a variety of options such as, swings/jungle gym, football, soccer and four square.

Homework Club is offered each day from 3:15 PM to 4:30 PM where children are highly encouraged to participate in reading and homework that has been assigned by their teachers. This club is conducted in the school library by Hawk's Nest leaders who are there to monitor and help students with any questions they might have.

After recess and homework club, the kids have a chance to get involved in arts and crafts time, various games and activities in the gym, free choice activities, and of course iPad/computer time until all children have been signed out of the program.
